With 15 years of experience in education, including over a decade working in inner London schools, I began my journey as a PE teacher, appreciating the importance of practical learning and student well-being. My passion for inclusive education led me to specialize in SEND, I now have over ten years experience as a SENCO. I continually expanding my expertise to better support students and their families. Now, as a dedicated teacher and assessor of dyslexia, I am excited to apply my knowledge and skills to empower individuals with this specific neurodiversity, ensuring they receive personalized support to help them thrive.

As an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and holder of the Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC), I adhere to the highest standards in dyslexia assessment and teaching. Our services provide comprehensive support for individuals with dyslexia and SEND. We offer:
- Dyslexia Assessments lasting 3-4 hours, ensuring a thorough evaluation in a comfortable environment. We recommend assessments take place at home or in school, but we can be flexible based on individual needs.
- Dyslexia Teaching with tailored 45-minut
Our services provide comprehensive support for individuals with dyslexia and SEND. We offer:
- Dyslexia Assessments lasting 3-4 hours, ensuring a thorough evaluation in a comfortable environment. We recommend assessments take place at home or in school, but we can be flexible based on individual needs.
- Dyslexia Teaching with tailored 45-minute sessions, available online or in your home.
- Screening for Additional Needs, including Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Dyslexia Screening for those who may not yet be ready for a full assessment.

Each service is designed to empower individuals with the tools, understanding, and guidance they need to succeed. We are based in Epsom, Surrey and cover areas in South London. Travel is possible.
What is dyslexia
Understanding Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that primarily affects skills involved in reading, writing, and spelling. It is characterised by difficulties with phonological processing, working memory, and rapid naming - meaning individuals may struggle with recognising and decoding words, retaining information, and quickly retrieving it when needed.
Dyslexia reflects a difference in the way the brain processes language, rather than a lack of intelligence or effort. People with dyslexia often have strengths in creativity, problem-solving, and thinking outside the box, but may find traditional methods of teaching or assessment challenging.
If you've noticed a child or family member experiencing difficulties such as:
- Struggling to sound out or recognise words, despite regular practice
- Writing letters backwards or spelling inconsistently
- Taking longer to complete reading and writing tasks
- Finding it hard to follow written instructions or retain information
These could be signs of dyslexia. Dyslexia varies in severity and can look different in each individual, which is why tailored support is so important.
A new definition is now in use
The field has moved on from the Rose Report (2009). The Delphi Definition, developed through an international consensus process and published in 2024, now represents the most current expert understanding of dyslexia. It describes dyslexia as a neuro-developmental condition that is biological in origin, affects people across their lifetime, and can have wide-ranging impacts beyond reading and spelling - including processing speed, organisation, and working memory.
Importantly, the Delphi Definition emphasises that dyslexia exists on a spectrum and that early, personalised support makes a significant difference. You can read more on the British Dyslexia Association website.
